David Luiz has urged his Chelsea teammates to ‘fight until the end’ after they secured a 3-0 win over Watford.
Chelsea took a big step towards securing the return of Champions League football with a comfortable 3-0 win at Stamford Bridge thanks to goals from Ruben Loftus-Cheek, David Luiz, and Gonzalo Higuain.
With one game to play, the Blues took advantage of Tottenham‘s 1-0 defeat against Bournemouth on Saturday to move up into third in the Premier League table, although they will still need to win their last game against Leicester to make absolutely sure of a return to European footballs top table.
With the Stamford Bridge outfit still involved in the Europa League – earning a 1-1 draw in their semi-final first leg against Eintracht Frankfurt earlier this week – Brazilian defender David Luiz urged his teammates to keep on fighting in their final few games of the season, despite the gruelling fixture list.
“It was good for us, we got our opportunity, we scored and then we killed the game,” Luiz told Sky Sports.
“The schedule is tough, but when you have fantastic players, more than just 11, we can rotate and have the same quality. We have that. It’s tough but it’s tough for everybody.
“We did well to get the three points but we have to still fight until the end.”
