Alexis Sanchez has not quite been able to produce his best form for Manchester United since his much publicised move to Old Trafford in January.
The Chile international moved to United as part of a swap deal that saw Armenian attacker Henrikh Mkhitaryan move to Arsenal.
Sanchez has looked like he has been struggling to find his feet in Jose Mourinho’s team so far, and has managed just one goal in seven appearances.
As we reported yesterday it has even been rumoured that United executives have admitted to other Premier League clubs that they are already regretting signing the 29-year-old.
However, United legend Ryan Giggs has stated today that he believes given time Sanchez’s class will eventually shine through.
“He’s a top player. He’s only scored one goal so far, so I’m sure he’d want to do better than that, but I think he’s done okay.
“His team-mates are still trying to find out what he likes, what he doesn’t like, the dynamics of the team. Sometimes it fits straight away, sometimes it takes a bit of time.
“I don’t think anyone should be worried about Alexis Sanchez, he’s a top, top player.” the Wales manager said.
Giggs is of course United’s record appearance maker and won an astounding 13 Premier League titles during his Old Trafford career, so he certainly knows a thing or two about what type of players will be a success at the club.
