Steven Gerrard thinks that the Liverpool side that Jurgen Klopp has assembled is the best the club has had for ‘a very long time’ saying he can’t see any weaknesses in the side whatsoever.
Liverpool are enjoying the best start to a campaign in a number of years, winning all six of their opening Premier League games to date, putting them two points clear of the chasing pack at the top of the table.
While Gerrard never managed to get his hands on the Premier League title as a player, he was part of some very strong sides, with Rafa Benitez and Brendan Rodgers’ sides going the closest to ending their title drought.
However, the current Rangers manager reckons that Jurgen Klopp’s team is better than any side he played in, but warned their lack of experience could ultimately be their downfall once again:
“I look at Liverpool now and can’t find any weaknesses when they’re at full strength,” he told BBC Radio 5Live.
“This is a lot stronger than the team I played in – it’s Liverpool’s best squad for a very long time.
“The only thing they haven’t got going for them is the experience. As someone who went very close, we lacked that experience.”
