Steven Gerrard is set to officially start his job as Rangers manager tomorrow and the former Liverpool captain is raring to go.
The 38-year-old is about to begin his first test as a first-team coach and he has a massive task on his hands to wrestle back supremacy in Glasgow from his former manager at Liverpool Brendan Rodgers, who’s Celtic side have won an unprecedented two domestic trebles on the trot.
However, much like during his playing days Gerrard is relishing the challenge ahead:
“Tomorrow, June 1, is the day I have been waiting for and I am absolutely desperate to get started officially in my role as the manager of Rangers football club,”he told Rangers official website.
“Along with Mark [Allen] and my backroom team we have already been working on our plans and strategy for the new season.
“We know what we want to achieve and we also know what will be required to meet the challenges ahead, but we will be ready.”
“We need to give the players every chance to perform at their best as often as possible because that is what fans demand, and rightly so.”
