AC Milan manager Genaro Gattuso has praised Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere following his sides Europa League clash against the Gunners on Thursday night.
The Gunners ran out 5-1 winners on aggregate having won 2-0 at the San Siro before two goals from Danny Welbeck in the second leg at the Emirates secured their place in the last eight.
One of the starting lineup for Arsenal was Jack Wilshere, a player who has played 31 appearances so far this season, the highest amount since 2013/14 having seemingly finally overcome his long-standing injury problems.
Despite becoming a regular once more for the Gunners, Wilshere is yet to sign a new deal, and is free to talk to other clubs, and one of those rumoured to have been interested is AC Milan.
Speaking after the game, former Rossonieri midfielder and current boss Genaro Gattuso admitted that he is a big fan of the midfielder:
“Jack Wilshere had a lot of physical problems and is a player I always appreciated, but he’s unusual,” said Gattuso
”He combines English grit with Spanish technique.
”I like him a lot – he could play in any league.”
Wilshere has also been linked with moves to La Liga side Real Betis, while Everton and West Ham are also thought to be interested.
