Former Manchester United captain and leading Sky Sports Pundit Gary Neville has revealed that he does not think Liverpool will be able to challenge for the Premier League crown next season.
Jurgen Klopp’s men have received many plaudits this week after they destroyed runaway league leaders Man City 3-0 at Anfield last Wednesday night.
This was the second time Liverpool have beaten Pep Guardiola’s men this season, leading many observers to suggest that the Reds will be the best placed team to challenge the Citizens for the Premier League title next season.
However, Neville stated that he does not think Klopp’s men will ever be able to compete for English football’s biggest prize whilst they are also competing in Europe.
“Don’t think so no whilst they are in the Champions League,” Neville wrote on Twitter.
“The way they play is difficult to replicate three times a week and their squad isn’t strong enough beyond first XI to withstand injuries and lots of games.”
