Gabriel Jesus has insisted that he has no intention of leaving Manchester City this summer, and doesn’t expect Sergio Aguero to either.
With only one place for a striker available in Pep Guardiola’s preferred system, Gabriel Jesus has been forced to play second fiddle to Sergio Aguero this season, with the Brazilan starting just eight Premier League games.
The 22-year-old has been linked with a possible move to Atletico Madrid this summer, but speaking after Brazil’s 3-0 win over Bolivia in the Copa America, Jesus said that it was ‘out of the question’ that either of Man City‘s strike duo leave the Etihad this summer.
“I think it’s out of the question that Aguero leaves and me too,” he told the Mail.
“[Aguero] is a legend at the club – he’s the top scorer [of all time].
“Obviously as a player I always want to play, but I’m happy to help and I respect Sergio.”
There was a very left-field suggestion for the Player of the Year from our end of season award podcast this week. ?
