Fulham starlet Ryan Sessegnon has admitted that he is flattered by reports linking him to a move to a top club.
Despite starting his career as a left-back, Sessegnon was played in a more advanced role last season, scoring an impressive 16 goals for the West London club on the way to gaining promotion to the Premier League.
His impressive form in the second tier saw him linked with a whole host of top clubs, with Manchester United and Tottenham most heavily linked, and despite admitting he is solely focussing on playing for Fulham, he also revealed that he can’t help but be flattered by the attention:
“You always see little bits and bobs when teams are linked with you, but I was always staying focused on playing for Fulham.
“That’s my main focus – just getting my head down and playing for Fulham.
“Of course as a young player, when you get linked to these clubs playing Champions League football, it’s always flattering.”
Yet despite insisting his focus remains on life at Fulham, Sessegnon also denied that he is close to agreeing on a contract extension with the club.
“I’m not aware of anything right now. I’m just playing and seeing how it goes,” he added.
