France boss Deschamps reveals he won’t consider Pogba as Les Blues captain

France’s World Cup winning manager Didier Deschamps has insisted that he doesn’t consider Manchester United star Paul Pogba as an option to be France captain.

Les Blues regular skipper Spurs goalkeeper Hugo Lloris looks set to miss out on his Country’s upcoming international fixtures against Germany and Holland through injury, but Deschamps has revealed that Pogba is not amongst the group of players who he will choose his stand-in captain from.

“Pogba captain in the absence of Lloris? You can imagine what you want, but you know the other captains there were when Hugo could not play,” Deschamps told the French press ahead of his sides UEFA Nations League fixtures.

“I will take the time to think.

“Paul was not captain with us at the World Cup, and that did not change what he did – and he did well with us at the World Cup.”
