Former Real Madrid boss reckons Ronaldo wants to return to Man Utd

Former Real Madrid manager Fabio Capello reckons that Cristiano Ronaldo wants to return to former club Manchester United.

The Portuguese superstar was in a cryptic mood following Real Madrid’s 3-1 win over Liverpool in last weekends Champions League final, once again suggesting his future at the club was unclear.

Its almost an annual ploy by the five time Ballon d’Or winner, toying with the media and the Real Madrid fans before finally committing his future to the club for at least another season before the fun and games invariably start again the following year.

Every time this happens, the 33-year-old is either linked with a return to Manchester United – where he is still adored by the Old Trafford faithful – or to mega rich French champions, PSG.

However Fabio Capello, who spent two spells in charge at the Bernabeu, thinks the Real Madrid number 7 wants a final hurrah at United:

“Cristiano wants to return to Manchester United alongside Mourinho,” the Italian told Sky Sport 24.

“I think he will eventually leave Madrid to go back to England. When? This I don’t know.”

While Capello is actually probably just guessing at this, Ronaldo’s own mother, a hugely influential person in the superstars life, has recently admitted she would like to see her son return to England:

“I like Paris,” she said. “I come every now and again. The last time was when my son received the Ballon d’Or. It was a great honour. When I arrived I was treated well by everyone.

“Convince Cristiano to sign for PSG? To be honest, it wouldn’t annoy me, but I would prefer him to return to Manchester United.”
