Former Liverpool midfielder says Salah wouldn’t get a game for Real or Barca

Liverpool attacker Mohamed Salah once again proved to be the difference maker this weekend, when he netted the winner in his sides crucial 2-1 win away to Crystal Palace.

This victory for Jurgen Klopp’s men and Chelsea’s subsequent loss to Spurs now means the Reds are all but certain to finish in the Premier League’s top four for the second consecutive season.

Salah has been a revelation for Liverpool this season scoring a sensational 36 goals in just 40 appearances in all competitions since his £38 million move from Roma last summer.

The Egyptian international’s amazing form has inevitably lead to transfer rumours linking him with a mega money move to Spanish giants Barcelona and Real Madrid.

However, former Liverpool midfielder Charlie Adam believes that Salah would be better off staying at Anfield, as he may not be guaranteed a place in the starting XI at the Nou Camp or Bernabeu.

While the Scotland international also reckons that if Salah stays and Jurgen Klopp can add one or two top class players to his squad then his former club will have a serious chance of winning their first league title since 1989/1990.

“Where’s he going to go? It’s difficult for him, where does he go?

“Will he get a game at Real Madrid? Will he get a game at Barcelona? “

“I don’t think he would.”

“I think he will stay there.”

“They are capable of winning the league, I’m firmly believe that they are,”

“They’re one or two short. They’ve got Naby Keita coming in over the summer, Emre Can looks like he will go.”

“But if they can get another one or two in I think they can challenge next summer.” Adam told TalkSport.
