Former Arsenal and Man City defender linked with Leicester City switch

Former Arsenal and Manchester City full back Bacary Sagna is being linked with a move to Leicester City.

The 34-year-old was released by Pep Guardiola at the end of last as the Catalan manager totally overhauled his options at full back. Kyle Walker, Benjamin Mendy, and Danilo replaced Sagna, Pablo Zabaleta, Gael Clichy and Aleksandar Kolarov in a £130m spending spree at the Etihad.

Zabaleta moved to West Ham on a free transfer, Kolarov was sold to Roma, Clichy moved to Turkish club Basaksehir while Sagna still remains without a club.

According to the Manchester Evening News, Leicester City are interested in signing Sagna on a free transfer. With the Frenchman not being registered to any club, the former Premier League champions will be able to register him to play as soon as a deal is agreed, and not have to wait until the next transfer window which opens in January.

The Foxes are interested in signing the defender as a backup to Danny Simpson. He made 85 appearances for City during his three years at the club and has made 65 caps for France.
