Manchester City attacker Phil Foden has spoken bullishly about his sides chances of winning an unprecedented quadruple this season.
The reigning Premier League Champions progressed to sixth round of the FA Cup this evening, brushing aside League Two outfit Newport County 4-1 at Rodney Parade, with highly-rated 18-year-old Foden scoring a brace.
Pep Guardiola’s side are still in with a chance of winning the Premier League, Carabao Cup, FA Cup and Champions League, and life-long City fan Foden believes his side have what it takes to win all four competitions.
“It was a difficult pitch and we kept playing our football and our quality shone through,’’ Foden told BBC’s MOTD.
”It’s always special when I score for the club I have always supported. I try and get as many as I can.
“The opponents got tired and the space started opening up and the chances came and we managed to take them. Our defenders dealt with every ball well today and we showed our quality on a difficult pitch. We scored straight after they did and it is always good to take the pressure off and get the goal.
“Everything is going well at the moment and we can definitely win every competition but it is going to be difficult. I’m trying to take my opportunities as they come.”
Next up for City is a Champions League tie against Bundesliga side Schalke, before they face Chelsea in the Carabao Cup final.
