Manchester City midfielder Fernandinho has warned Liverpool that it can be difficult to deal with the pressure of being on top of the Premier League.
Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool are currently in first place, four points clear of Pep Guardiola’s Man City side after 21 games.
Reigning Champions City handed Liverpool their first Premier League defeat of the season on Thursday at the Etihad to set the title race up for an exciting finish over the next few months.
Man City won the league last year in record-breaking fashion, and Fernandinho believes it is going to be interesting to see what happens over the course of the remaining 17 games.
“Four points is going to be interesting for the rest of the season for both teams. They are still leaders and they have a lot of games to play as well,” Fernandinho told Sky Sports.
“It is not easy to stay there at the top because the pressure is so high. You have to win every game, so we will see what happens in the end.”
