Rio Ferdinand has criticised Manchester City defender Kyle Walker describing the England international as a ‘liability at the top level’.
The former Manchester United defender was speaking after watching Pep Guardiola’s side lose their unbeaten record at Chelsea last weekend, with goals from N’Golo Kante and David Luiz condemning the champions to defeat at Stamford Bridge.
Ferdinand, now working as a pundit for BT Sport, was particularly critical of 28-year-old Walker.
“Look at Kyle Walker, sleeping. Look at Kyle Walker.’’ Ferdinand was heard saying in a leaked off air segment.
“That’s why England – whenever he plays – he’ll always be a liability at the top level.
“You always know that you will get an opportunity against them, but you have to be clinical like they were today. If you’ve got the b*******.”
After hosting Hoffenheim in the Champions League midweek, Manchester City will be looking to bounce back from their first league defeat of the season when they face Everton in the Premier League on Saturday lunch time.
