The agent of Nabil Fekir has confirmed Liverpool’s interest in his client, but has insisted that no deal is close to being completed yet.
Liverpool have been heavily linked with the France international for a number of weeks, while Arsenal are also believed to be showing an interest. It has been claimed that a deal to bring the Lyon playmaker to the Premier League could cost in the region of £50 million.
There had been reports over the weekend that Fekir, along with his agent Jean-Pierre Bernes, had travelled to Merseyside to conclude a deal, but those reports seeming to be wide of the mark. While Fekir’s agent has confirmed Jurgen Klopp’s interest in his client, he has suggested a deal may not be concluded until after the World Cup:
“I did not leave Marseille (this weekend),” Bernes told Le Progres.
“I am with my family, but I will be clear, we will go with Nabil to Liverpool or elsewhere when there is an agreement with Lyon and if Jean-Michel Aulas gives the green light.
“Liverpool’s interest exists, but for the moment nothing is done and other clubs could come in. The window will be long.”
