The player to clock the fastest running speed in the Premier League this season has been revealed and it’s safe to say few people would be able to guess who the man in question is.
Most of us would have expected the top flight’s number one speed merchant to be a pacey attacker like Mohamed Salah, Marcus Rashford or Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, but no, in fact, it’s actually Manchester United defender Timothy Fosu-Mensah, who spent most of this season on loan at relegated Fulham.
The 21-year-old Dutch international looked a promising prospect when he broke through into the United first team in 2016/2017, although he has struggled for form and fitness during loans spells at Crystal Palace and Fulham over the last two campaigns.

Fosu-Mensah is currently back at United recovering from a knee injury he sustained while playing for the Cottagers and faces an uncertain future at Old Trafford after failing to impress during both his loan spells.
However, according to Opta the Amsterdam born youngster clocked a scary top speed of 35.32km/h this season, and with raw pace such a crucial asset in the modern game, we are sure he’ll have plenty of options if his future does lie away from Manchester.
Coming in in second place are Man City defender Kyle Walker, with Wolves Portuguese utility man Ruben Vinagre in third.

However, Fosu Mensah’s time is still quite a way off Man City attacker Leroy Sane, who holds the record for being the fastest Premier League player ever, with a frightening speed of 35.48km/h, which was clocked during the 2017/2018 season.
