Cesc Fabregas has urged Eden Hazard to stay at Chelsea, describing him as ‘the best player at the club’.
Hazard has been linked with a move away from Chelsea for a number of years, with Real Madrid and PSG the sides thought to have been most interested. The Belgian has always maintained that he is happy at Stamford Bridge over the last few years, but this summer is different.
Hazard’s form for Belgium at the World Cup, combined with Cristiano Ronaldo’s£100 million move to Juventus, has once again seen those links to the Bernabeu resurface, but this time he has hinted he would like to move, saying that “it might be time to discover something different”.
Speaking about the speculation surrounding Hazard, his Chelsea teammate Cesc Fabregas has urged him to stay:
“I won’t lie, I speak to him often,” Fabregas told a press conference.
“He is the best player at the club and we need a Chelsea to keep the best players. He knows the fans love him and a player we love to play with. For sure, we want him to stay.”
The Blues are currently in Australia at the start of their pre-season tour, where they will try to get to grips to Maurizio Sarri’s attacking style of play.
Hazard meanwhile is currently on holiday following his exploits at the World Cup, where he helped lead Belgium to a third-place finish.
