Everton, West Ham and Swansea are set to battle it out for Augsburg right-back Daniel Opare in January, according to reports in the Daily Mail.

The 27-year-old has impressed in the Bundesliga this season with his pace, power and solid defensive displays.

Opare has 16 caps for Ghana and had a spell earlier in his career with Real Madrid. The talented defender joined Augsburg in 2015 from Porto, and has mostly been used at right-back by the German side, although he occasionally plays on the left of defense.

Everton, West Ham and Swansea have all made less than ideal starts to their Premier League seasons, and all three sides are looking to sign defensive reinforcements in January.

Opare’s contract with Augsburg expires next summer, and he is not expected to sign an extension, so English clubs are hopeful that they will be able to snap him up for a cut-price £3 million when the transfer window opens at the start of next month.
