Everton are resigned to losing John Stones to Manchester City this summer, but will not give him up without a fight as they want a City player in return to sweeten the deal.
Ronald Koeman has personally met with Manchester City sporting director Txiki Begiristan regarding the deal for Stones, and has asked for Wilfried Bony to be included in the deal as a sweetener for the Everton faithful.
Bony has had a difficult spell at Manchester City since his £25million from Swansea in 2014, scoring just 10 goals in 46 appearances, and has been linked with a summer departure.
Sergio Aguero is undoubtedly Citys number 1 striker, with academy prospect Kelechi Ihenacho bursting onto the scene last season to overtake Bony in the pecking order.
If Bony were to move to Goodison Park, he would have to challenge Romelu Lukaku for the main striking spot, although the Belgians future at the club is still not certain.
Koeman is expected to hold talks with Lukaku regarding his future in the coming weeks upon his return from his summer break after his Euro 2016 exploits.
