Everton host Chelsea at Hill Dickinson Stadium on Saturday lunchtime, unbeaten after six league games. David Moyes’s side are fifth on 10 points.

Everton have won two and drawn four, conceding only five goals, though Moyes was frustrated by the 2-2 draw at Hull after his side led 2-1. They kept clean sheets in two of their three home league games, and Thierno Barry has three league goals, two at Hill Dickinson. Everton won this fixture 3-0 in March, and Chelsea have lost six of their last nine visits to the blue half of Merseyside.

Everton team news

Everton have no confirmed absentees, but three players are doubts. Vitaliy Mykolenko (leg) missed the draw at Hull and is much improved, Moyes said, with a chance of facing Chelsea. Jarrad Branthwaite (dead leg) picked up a problem early at Hull but completed the game, and Moyes said the club have been monitoring it. Christian Norgaard (groin), the summer signing from Arsenal, is still waiting to make his debut and is not ready to start. Moyes said he could still use him at certain times, which makes a place on the bench possible.

Branthwaite is expected to deputise at left-back again if Mykolenko misses out, with Michael Keane, James Tarkowski and Ainsley Maitland-Niles alongside him. Tyrique George, who began on the bench for the last two games, is “knocking on the door”, Moyes said, but is unlikely to start against his former club, leaving Jack Grealish on the left. Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, who scored and set up a goal at Hull, is expected behind Barry, with Brennan Johnson on the right. James Garner and Harrison Armstrong should keep their midfield places.

Everton predicted lineup

Everton possible starting XI: Pickford; Maitland-Niles, Tarkowski, Keane, Branthwaite; Garner, Armstrong; Johnson, Dewsbury-Hall, Grealish; Barry
