Everton are readying a bid for Olivier Giroud as they look to replace Manchester United bound Romelu Lukaku.
Lukaku has already completed his medical with a deal expected to be announced today, after finalising his £90m transfer to Old Trafford.
Despite being close to re-signing Wayne Rooney on a free transfer from United, Everton are ready to make a bid to sign Olivier Giroud from Arsenal.
The 30-year-old still has three years remaining in his current deal at the Emirates, and has expressed his desire to to stay and fight for his place at the club, this despite the Gunners splashing a club record £52m on his France international teammate Alexandre Lacazette.
Giroud played second fiddle to Alexis Sanchez last season, and is now likely to do the same behind his compatriot.
Marseille, Lyon and West Ham are also interested in signing the striker, but it is Everton who are hopeful in being able to conclude a deal to join theor ambitious project which has seen them splash £90m in transfer fees already.
In addition to Giroud and Wayne Rooney, Everton are also interest in signing Gylfi Sigurdsson from Swansea City.
