Marco Silva has been left angered after defender Yerry Mina picked up an injury whilst on international duty with Colombia.
The summer signing from Barcelona has barely featured for the club in recent months, though did impress in the 2-0 win over Chelsea prior to the international break.
Silva admits the club communicated to the national side that it would be a risk to play the 24-year-old in two games, and is furious after the centre-back picked up a hamstring injury that will likely rule him out for several weeks.
“We knew it could be a risk for him to play the two matches,” Silva told the press ahead of his sides away clash with West Ham.
“We communicated this to them but we cannot control their decisions.
“They decided and unfortunately for us and for Yerry he took the injury.”
“He’s not out for the season, let’s see how many weeks it will be but I expect Mina… to be playing in a blue shirt again before the end of the season.”
