Marco Silva insists he is ready for anything regarding the reception he is likely to receive as he returns to Watford this weekend with Everton.
Silva took over at Watford in May 2017 after he couldn’t prevent his previous club Hull City from being relegated from the Premier League.
Everton then made an approach for Silva to take over at Goodison Park in late 2017. Even though Silva did not move to the Toffees he was dismissed in January 2018 with Watford claiming his head had been turned by the Goodison Park outfits approach and his focus was no longer on the Vicarage Road club.
Silva eventually did take over at Everton in May of last year and this weekend will be his first visit back to Watford since leaving in such bitter circumstances 13 months ago.
“It’s not the time to reflect on last season. What I can tell you about Watford is that it will be a tough game. If you ask me about the reception, in football I will tell you that you have to be ready for anything,” he said in his pre-match press conference.
“I am ready for everything and my job is to make sure my players are ready. Normally the best team on the pitch will win the match. It is not a distraction for us. Our players have to be ready to play a football match.”
Everton are currently 9th in the Premier League, one place and one point below Watford who have played a game more than The Toffees.
