Everton full-back Jonjoe Kenny has told the club’s fans to stick with Marco Silva despite their difficult start to the season under their new boss.
Silva arrived at Goodison Park to much fanfare this summer, despite having actually hardly proved anything in the Premier League to date, with Everton finally landing the man they had been chasing for well over six months.
However, his reign in charge of the Toffees hasn’t got off to the greatest of starts, winning only one of his opening five games in charge, drawing three, and falling to a disappointing 3-1 home defeat to West Ham this weekend.
Jonjoe Kenny, who started at right-back during that defeat on Sunday has however urged the Everton faithful to get behind their new boss, describing him as a top manager:
“We need to believe, everyone’s got to be in it together – from the fans to the players,” Kenny told the Liverpool Echo.
“We’ve got to believe we can go and be a top team again because we’ve got top players and I think everyone’s got to get behind the gaffer.
“I think he’s a top manager, everyone’s got to buy into his ideas and we all do it together.
“He lets me get forward a lot and wants me to join in, he gives me belief and confidence to go and give my best and not worry what other people are thinking about me.
“I enjoy going out there and feeling relaxed. The manager’s been brilliant for me.”
