Everton have dropped their interest in Leicester City goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel following the arrival of Steve Walsh.

The arrival of Walsh as the new Director of Football at Goodison Park came with agreements between the clubs that Everton could not make a move for any of the Champions’ players.

The Blues of Merseyside have been linked with making a move for the Leicester goalkeeper as they look to find a new long term number one following departure of Tim Howard this summer.

Everton have also been linked with Newcastle goalkeeper Tim Krul and Manchester City’s Joe Hart.
