According to reports, Everton are set to continue their summer spending with a move for Vitesse Goalkeeper Eloy Room.

Everton’s current third choice goalkeeper Joel Robles is set to move back to Spain and is reportedly linked to Deportivo La Coruna. Eloy Room would provide backup for Jordan Pickford and Maarten Stekelenburg.

Robles recently confirmed to sources close to Football Faithful that after four years at Goodison Park, it was time to move on. The Spaniard has had the number one jersey taken from him and handed to £30m signing Jordan Pickford.

Room made 33 appearances for Vitesse in Eredivisie last season as they finished fifth. The Dutch keeper has been with Vitesse for nine years with one year remaining on his current contract. However, he recently decided against signing a new contract in favour of a new challenge.

According to Dutch website SoccerNews, Vitesse want €1.5 million for the goalkeeper.

The Toffee’s have already signed Room’s fellow Curacao teammate Cuco Martina on a free transfer, so this may help convince Room to make the move to Goodison Park.
