Barcelona are interested in making a move for Everton manager and former Barcelona player Ronald Koeman.
The Daily Mirror claim that the Catalan club are eyeing up the Dutch manager as a replacement for Luis Enrique, who is facing the axe following Barcelona’s 4-0 Champions League humiliation to PSG earlier this week.
As well as facing the prospect of Champions League humiliation, Barcelona are one point behind Real Madrid in La Liga. However th Catalans have played two more games than their Classico rivals.
Koeman only moved to Goodison Park in the summer, and has guided them to seventh place in the Premier League. A huge improvement on last season. Despite being reluctant to leave a job after just one year, the opportunity to take over as Barcelona boss could be a once in a lifetime opportunity.
Sevilla boss Jorge Sampaoli, Athletic Bilbao’s Ernesto Valverde, Real Sociedad’s Eusebio Sacristan and Mauricio Pochettino are also in the running to become the next Barcelona boss, should Luis Enrique be forced out of the Nou Camp.
