Arsenal secures their place in the Europa League semi-finals with a 6-3 aggregate victory over CSKA Moscow.
Despite the scoreline, it wasn’t the most comfortable of evenings, with the Russian side taking a two goal lead on the night to reduce the aggregate score to 4-3 and leaving them just one goal away from qualification. However, goals from Danny Welbeck and Aaron Ramsey took the tie away from CSKA in the last stages of the game.
Elsewhere, favourites Atletico Madrid edged past Sporting Lisbon 2-1 on aggregate, despite losing the second leg 1-0.
Marseille turned round a 1-0 away defeat with an emphatic 5-1 win in the second leg against RB Leipzig, while Leipzig’s sister club RB Salzburg beat Lazio 5-2 in aggregate.
With Arsenal and Atletico the favourites to win the tournament, the two were handed a blow as they were drawn against each other, with the first leg at the Emirates.
