Day Eight of Euro 2016 and two more teams have joined France in the knockout stages of the competition, and for the first time, one team has scored more than two goals.

Italy 1-0 Sweden, Group E

Italy edged past Sweden in a game that lacked excitement. However, Eder’s 87th minute strike sealed the points sending the Azzurri to the round of 16, yet Sweden on the brink of exit.

Czech Republic 2-2 Croatia, Group D

Croatia looked to be cruising through to a victory and the next round as Ivan Perisic and Ivan Rakitic gave them a 2-0 lead. However, the Czechs came back at the Croats. Milan Skoda made it 2-1 with 15 minutes to play, before Domagoj Vida’s handball left Mark Clattenburg with no choice but to award a penalty in the 93rd minute. Tomas Necid stepped up to level up the scores.

Spain 3-0 Turkey, Group D

Spain clicked into gear and eased into the next round of the competition with a 3-0 win over toothless Turkey. Alvaro Morata scored twice either side of a Nolito goal to give the reigning Champions a comfortable victory.
