Estevao Willian has said he is determined ‘to seize every opportunity’ he gets at Chelsea as he looks to cement a first-team place under Xabi Alonso.
The 19-year-old has struggled for regular minutes at Chelsea this season following the arrival of Alonso as head coach, and the £117m signing of Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa.
Rogers has been preferred as part of new-look front three alongside Cole Palmer and Joao Pedro, reducing Estevao to just 23 minutes of Premier League football across four substitute appearances.
Estevao impressed during his debut season at Chelsea, scoring eight times in 36 appearances to win London Football Awards Men’s Young Player of the Year for 2026.
The teenager opened up on his lack of football this season and said he has belief in his ability to regain a regular role at Stamford Bridge.
“I think every coach has their own way of playing,” Estevao told a press conference while with Brazil for the international break.
“Of course, we work every day, I give my best every day and that’s what I do.
“We have quality players at Chelsea, so what I do is focus on what I can control. I try to give my best in training, when I get an opportunity I try to give my best. It goes day after day.
“I try to seize every opportunity I have, I try to control everything I can and I leave it in God’s hands and I trust myself a lot too.”
