Spurs midfielder Cristian Eriksen was pleased his side were able to ‘bounce back’ from their shock Boxing Day defeat to Wolves, with a convincing 3-0 away win against Cardiff last night.
Three goals within the first 26 minutes from Eriksen, Harry Kane, and Son Heung-Min meant last night’s encounter in South Wales was all but over by half-time.
”We all know how it felt losing at home and we had to bounce back. We were lucky with the first goal and afterwards we had the ball for the rest of the game.’’ Eriksen told Sky Sports.
When asked if Spurs win has ramped up the pressure on Liverpool and Man City the Denmark international replied:
“We put pressure on everyone and took pressure off ourselves. It’ll be back on for the next game. It felt like we were 18 points behind but we’re not far off.”
Spurs win sees them move above Man City into second, with Pep Guardiola’s side set to face Premier League leaders Liverpool in a mouthwatering clash on Thursday.
