Christian Eriksen is edging closer to a move to Inter Milan, with the midfielder set to undergo a medical at the club after a fee was agreed with Tottenham.
The Danish international is on the verge of bringing his six-and-a-half-year stay in north London to an end, Eriksen having entered the final months of his contract and informing Spurs of his desire to leave in search of a new challenge.
Despite his availability on a free transfer at the end of the season, Inter were keen to secure the services of the 27-year-old for the remainder of the season and according to The Guardian, have now agreed a fee of €20 million, with Eriksen set to undergo a medical ahead of the signing of a four-and-a-half-year contract worth a reported £260,000-a-week.
Inter had initially made a bid of €15m plus add-ons, though after meeting with Spurs chairman Daniel Levy on Friday, a deal was finally struck to take Eriksen to the San Siro after lengthy negotiations.
Inter currently sit second in Serie A, four points behind champions and leaders Juventus, as the Nerazzurri look to end the domestic dominance of their rivals who have won eight successive league titles.
Antonio Conte’s side have already strengthened during the winter window with the additions of Ashley Young from Manchester United and Chelsea‘s Victor Moses, with Eriksen seemingly their latest Premier League capture as the club look to continue their title pursuit.
Another Chelsea star, Olivier Giroud, also remains on their radar, Inter still seeking further business ahead of the closure of the winter window next week.
