England are set to take on Czechia at Wembley Stadium on Tuesday in their fourth group-stage game of the UEFA Nations League.
The Three Lions arrive in excellent shape after dismantling Croatia 7-0 at the weekend. Thomas Tuchel’s side responded impressively to their narrow 3-2 loss to Spain in the opening Nations League fixture, having earlier claimed a vital 2-0 victory away to Czechia in Prague. Across their previous six matches, England have come out on top four times and have looked particularly dangerous in front of goal.
England team news
Tuchel’s squad has been hit hard by injuries and withdrawals. Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott has left the camp after picking up a serious quadriceps injury on his first senior international start, with the issue expected to keep him out for as long as two months.
Arsenal defender Ezri Konsa has also returned to his club as a precaution after a minor calf concern, while Nico O’Reilly pulled out earlier in the window because of discomfort picked up in training.
To strengthen the defence, Manchester City youngster Rico Lewis has been called up late from the under-21 group. They join an already lengthy absentee list featuring Cole Palmer, Declan Rice, Marcus Rashford, Kobbie Mainoo and Tino Livramento.
As a result, important players such as Marc Guéhi, Jude Bellingham and Anthony Gordon could be given a break, although captain Harry Kane is still expected to spearhead the attack.
England predicted lineup
Possible England starting XI: Pickford; Alexander-Arnold, Branthwaite, Chalobah, Hall; Lewis-Skelly, Anderson; Saka, Rogers, Eze; Kane
