Unai Emery insists he retains the ‘backing’ of the Arsenal board despite the club’s poor run of form and difficult start to the season.
The Spaniard has come under increasing pressure in recent weeks following a torrid run of form, Arsenal having failed to win in any of their past six fixtures in all competitions ahead of tonight’s Europa League meeting with Eintracht Frankfurt at the Emirates.
The club’s winless run has seen them slip to eighth in the Premier League, whilst the North London side are now eight points adrift of the top four and facing the prospect of missing out on Champions League football for a fourth consecutive season.
Despite the club’s struggles and the mounting pressure on his position at the club, Emery insists he has the backing of the Arsenal hierarchy and says his sole focus is on tonight’s meeting with the Bundesliga side as he bids to turn their fortunes around.
Over time, you expect a coach to improve. Emery's Arsenal are getting dramatically worse.

“Really the club is supporting me,” Emery said at his pre-match presser. “I feel the club and everyone responsible in that area is backing me. Really I appreciate it a lot.
“I feel strong with that support and know my responsibility to come back and change the situation.
“My job is to prepare for the match on Thursday and only look at that match.
“We are playing at home with our supporters so we want to transmit our energy, our game-plan and everything we work on at the training ground. Those are my only thoughts.
“We need one good match, one good connection with our supporters and I above all need mainly to be strong in my consistent way every day.”
Arsenal will secure qualification to the knock-out stages if they avoid defeat at the Emirates, the club currently sitting four points clear of both Standard Liege and tonight’s opponents ahead of this evening’s fixtures.
