Unai Emery is confident that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will return to goalscoring form after drawing a blank in his first two games of the season.
The Gabon international made an instant impact after moving to Arsenal from Borussia Dortmund last January, scoring an impressive 10 goals in just 13 Premier League appearances.
However, in the Gunners opening two league games of the season against Man City and Chelsea, he failed to find the back of the net, missing a number of glaring opportunities in the defeat at Stamford Bridge last week.
Despite his lack of goalscoring form, Unai Emery is confident that the clubs’ record signing will find the net soon.
“The first idea for us on Saturday is to create chances and then the players’ confidence for starting to arrive in the box, to score,” Emery said in his pre-match press conference.
“Maybe the players can not score three good chances in one match and on another day, I am sure they are going to do maybe the same chances in one match and score three.
“For that, Aubameyang is a player who, in his career, has scored a lot and he is going to do that here also.”
Aubameyang will be hoping to get off the mark this weekend when the Gunners host London rivals West Ham at the Emirates.
