Emery: Arsenal need to find ‘balance’

Unai Emery has said that Arsenal need to ‘find the right balance’ after watching his side beat Chelsea 2-0 at the Emirates.

Goals from Alexandre Lacazette and Laurent Koscielny were enough to secure all three points against Chelsea, a result which closed the gap on their London rivals to just three points.

However, the result comes a week after the Gunners slipped to a surprise 1-0 defeat to West Ham at the London Stadium, and Unai Emery has told his players that they must find the right balance between their home and away form.

“We wanted to win for our fans. The difference in the table [between ourselves and Chelsea] was six points, but this victory can help us be optimistic. We can be happy after today, but we need to take things game by game,” Emery told BT Sport.

“We need to find the right balance at home and away. At home you can show all the supporters what you can do.

“The difference between last match and today’s game is very big, even with the same players, so we need to find that balance.”

Arsenal have won 75% of their home games in the league this season (W9 D2 L1), but when playing away from the Emirates, that number drops to a mere 36% (W4 D3 L4).
