This Sunday sees the North London Derby between Arsenal and Spurs take place at the Emirates Stadium.
Unai Emery knows that his Arsenal team will need to be at their best to get anything from a Spurs team who have been on top form in recent weeks.
Emery stated that he tries to keep his team’s focus only on the next game:
“For us, they’re playing in every match with good preparation and also thinking we’re going to play a lot of matches. But we’re only thinking match to match and preparing match to match,” Emery told Arsenal’s official website.
The former Sevilla and PSG manager highlighted why his team should need no extra catalyst to perform when they take to the pitch on Sunday.
“On Sunday the derby, with our supporters and also three points on the table that we need there is a lot of positive things for our motivation to be very, very high.”
Arsenal (5th) are just three points behind Spurs (3rd) and both sides have a goal difference of +12. A win for The Gunners will put them ahead of Mauricio Pochettino’s side in the Premier League for the first time this season.
