Arsenal boss, Unai Emery, was singing the praises of his team today ahead of their Premier League fixture with Huddersfield on Saturday.
Emery saw his side complete a brilliant 4-2 win over Spurs in the north London derby last Sunday and then The Gunners went to Old Trafford on Wednesday night where the game finished 2-2 with Manchester United.
Arsenal have now gone 20 games without defeat in all competitions and speaking today, Emery applauded his team’s spirit.
“We only think about the next match and prepare as well as possible. Then, we’ve created team spirit with confidence, improving things we needed to do better,” Emery told his pre-match press conference.
Even when considering their currently leaky backline, Emery was still looking very much on the bright side.
“Defensively we are conceding a lot of goals in each match, but the balance at the moment is positive because our attacking players are creating a lot of chances and we are scoring a lot.
‘That’s good but we need to take a good balance in the attacking and defensive moments. We have changed to three at the back and sometimes with two or three midfielders. We need to continue improving and looking for the best balance for both.”
If Emery can figure that balance out this season then Arsenal will be hard to keep out of the top four – a position not many of us would have predicted them to be in before the start of the season.
