Chelsea full-back Emerson Palmieri has revealed the moment he found out Eden Hazard had finally left the club.
Hazard completed his move to Real Madrid earlier this month, before being presented in front of 50,000 Madridistas at the Bernabeu last week, a move which could eventually see the Spanish side coughing up ยฃ130 million.
He had been linked with making the move to the Spanish capital for a number of years, and when the news of his eventual Stamford Bridge departure was officially announced, it hardly came as a surprise.
While Chelsea fans may not fully realise the extent of the Eden Hazard shaped hole until they get their Premier League campaign underway against Manchester United on August 11, Blues full-back Emerson Palmieri has revealed the moment he fully realised the Belgian had gone, when he left the club’s WhatsApp group.
“On the WhatsApp group, the last move there was Hazardโs farewell,” he told ESPN Brasil.
“He said goodbye to the boys and such, since then, we donโt know anything else. Itโs weird.
“He sent a โthank you, I love you guysโ, and then it showed โEden Hazard left the groupโ.
“I said damn, he really left.”
