Edwin van der Sar gives Justin Kluivert transfer update

He is one of the brightest talents in Dutch football, and now former Manchester United goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar has offered an update on the youngsters future.

Kluivert, who is the son of Barcelona legend Patrick, has been linked with a move to Manchester United for that last 12 months or so, while reports in the last few days have also suggested that Everton are interested.

Despite the wishes of his father, the 18-year-old has recently joined forces with infamous agent Mino Raiola, the man who brokered deals for the likes of Paul Pogba, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Romelu Lukaku to move to Manchester United.

Ajax are desperate to keep hold of the youngster who has scored 11 goals in 36 appearances this season, but former United ‘keeper and now Ajax chief Edwin van der Sar has revealed Raiola is pushing for transfer.

“We have been talking for 10 months now [about a renewal], and we are a bit done with it all now,” he said.

“He is difficult to keep. His agent pushes him towards the exit, which is a shame.

“It is not our intention to let players aged 18 or 19 leave the club. That is not the philosophy of Ajax.”
