Sean Dyche’s Burnley side face what could be considered a relegation six-pointer at Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Saturday.
Dyche watched on as his team lost 2-1 at home to Newcastle United on Monday night. He knows that this trip to Selhurst Park is going to be another tough outing for his men who currently appear to be very low on confidence.
Speaking today, Dyche stated his respect for Palace’s management team of Roy Hodgson and Ray Lewington.
“I have maximum respect for Roy Hodgson and Ray Lewington,” Dyche told his pre-match press conference.
“They’ve got a team with some talent, they’ve got a team that can win games and yet I think that’s the measure of the Premier League and how tough it is. Palace haven’t found that win, we haven’t found that win.”
Burnley have found it very tough going this season but that doesn’t mean that Dyche is ready to throw in the towel just yet.
“I have the experience of these type of runs and the one thing I know is that good work on the training pitch and good belief systems will enhance your chances of winning. So that’s what we look to do and I’m sure Roy and Ray will be doing their version of that with their players.”
The Clarets have been a shadow of the side that battled to a mightily impressive 7th-place finish in last season’s league table.
