Borussia Dortmund have joined Manchester United and Arsenal in the race to sign Brighton centre-back Ben White this summer.
White has attracted huge transfer interest since starring on loan at Leeds during the 2019/20 season, establishing himself as one of the brightest young defenders in English football as the club won promotion from the Championship.
Leeds were keen to sign the centre-back on a permanent basis upon their return to the Premier League, making several offers – the highest reported to be around £25m – which were rejected by Brighton with White having since become a prominent figure in Graham Potter’s side.
The 23-year-old has made 31 league appearances for the Seagulls this season and continues to be monitored by some of the Premier League’s leading sides, with Manchester United and Arsenal both rumoured to be interested in the player ahead of the summer transfer window.
According to The Sun, the Premier League duo will now face interest from across Europe with Borussia Dortmund having joined Paris Saint-Germain as admirers, both sides monitoring the centre-back who will cost in the region of £35m.
Dortmund have previous in signing promising English talent having secured deals for Jadon Sancho and Jude Bellingham in recent seasons, both players having since developed in full England internationals since moving to the Westfalenstadion.
White is believed to be on the radar of Gareth Southgate ahead of a call-up to the senior side, with the defender in contention to be introduced to the fold after this summer’s European Championship.
