Done Deal: West Ham sign highly-rated youngster Mesaque Dju from Benfica

West Ham have completed the signing of up-and-coming Portuguese winger Mesaque Dju from Benfica ahead of transfer deadline day.

Mesaque Dju has signed a three-and-a-half-year deal with the Hammers, moving to the London Stadium on a free transfer as the club tie up their transfer business for January.

The 19-year-old winger is a Portuguese international at u20 level and will be slotted into the London side’s u23 squad.

Upon signing for West Ham United, Dju commented on why he chose to move to the East End club.

“I know a lot about West Ham because it is a very big club in England and helps young players get to the first team,” he said.

“I want this and I’m working for this.”

Academy Director Terry Westley compared the youngster to Michail Antonio, calling him a ‘dynamic player’.
