Sunderland have completed the signing of South African international Steven Pienaar on a free transfer.
The midfielder moves to the Stadium of Light where he will be reunited with David Moyes following their time together at Everton.
Pienaar was released from Everton this summer by new boss Ronald Koeman after spending a total of eight years at the club spread over two spells.
He has signed a one-year deal with Sunderland after training with the club for a number of weeks.
