Eden Hazard is set to join Real Madrid from Chelsea after the clubs agreed on a deal worth €100 million.
Despite the Stamford Bridge outfit facing a transfer ban next season they have decided to cash in on the talented attacker, instead of losing him for free next summer, with the Belgian international only having a year left on his contract with the Blues.
Hazard has established himself as one of Europes best players since moving to west London from French side Lille, winning two Premier League titles, the FA Cup, Carabao Cup, two Europa Leagues, and the PFA Player of the Year award in 2014/2015.
He has never made any secret of his desire to play under his childhood hero and Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane, and according to the Guardian Hazard has now secured his dream move to the Bernabeu. After weeks of negotiations, the clubs finally agreed on a fee of €100 million (£88.5 million), although Chelsea are believed to have inserted a series of add ons into the deal.
Real are expected to be one of Europe’s biggest spenders during the summer transfer window after a disastrous season last time out that saw Los Blancos finish third in La Liga, 19 points behind arch-rivals Barcelona.
Hazard will be the 13 time European Champions second major capture of the summer, after they announced the signing of striker Luka Jovic from Eintracht Frankfurt yesterday, with the Spanish side now expected to turn their attention towards sealing a deal for Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba.
