Done Deal: Everton seal £28.5 million Yerry Mina deal

Everton have competed the £28.5 million signing of highly-rated centre-back Yerry Mina from La Liga Champions Barcelona.

Mina only joined Barcelona from Brazilian side Palmeiras last January for £11.8 million, but he has struggled to dislodge Gerard Pique and Samuel Umtiti at the heart of the Catalan side’s defence.

The 6ft 5in centre-back did however impress for Colombia at this summers World Cup in Russia, with Everton having to fight off competition from Manchester United and French side Lyon to secure his signature.

Barcelona obviously still think a lot of Mina though as they have placed a buy-back option into the deal, with the Catalan side taking to twitter earlier to confirm the transfer a short while ago.

Everton begin their Premier League campaign against away to newly promoted Wolves on Saturday evening.
