DONE DEAL: Crystal Palace confirm £10million signing

Crystal Palace have completed the £10million signing of West Ham defender James Tomkins

The 27-year old has moved from East to South London after growing frustrated at a lack of first team opportunities under Slaven Bilic, and will now look for more regular action under Alan Pardew at Crystal Palace.

Tomkins said:

I am really excited to be joining Crystal Palace, a massive club and a manager in Alan Pardew that I know well and will always be thankful for how he helped me develop in my younger days at Upton Park.

It was thought that the Hammers were holding out for more money, but met half way after Crystal Palaces initial £8.5million bid was rejected.

Tomkins becomes the Eagles third summer signing following the arrivals of Andros Townsend and Steve Mandanda who both arrived at the club last week.
