Done Deal: Barcelona sign Everton outcast

Barcelona have completed the re-signing of Gerard Deulefeu.

The Spaniard returns to Barcelona just two years after completing a move from Catalunya to Merseyside.

A statement for the La Liga club read:

“FC Barcelona have activated the buy-back clause for Gerard Deulofeu. In the following days, the terms will be agreed with both Everton and the player. Deulofeu’s contract will run until 30 June 2019.”

Deulofeu stayed at Goodison Park for two seasons, scoring eight goals in 75 appearances before being shipped out on loan to AC Milan, where he was able to rediscover his form.

The Spaniard scored four goals in 18 appearances for the Serie A club, prompting Barcelona to trigger a buy back clause in the 23-year-old’s contract.

The Spanish club are believed to have paid €12m for the Spaniards signature.
