Tiemoue Bakayoko has completed a move to Italian giants AC Milan on a season-long loan.
The French midfielder moved to Chelsea last summer to much fanfare, having helped Monaco to their first league title in the 2016/17 season.
However, his first campaign in the Premier League didn’t quite go to plan, and he was widely criticised for a number of poor displays in the heart of the Blues midfield, and serving as an unsuitable replacement for Nemanja Matic, who had moved to Manchester United.
He moves to the San Siro on a season-long loan deal, with the Italians having agreed to an option which could see the deal being made permanent next summer.
A statement on the AC Milan website reads:
“AC Milan are pleased to announce the signing of French midfielder Tiémoué Bakayoko from Chelsea FC. The 23-year-old joins the club on a loan deal with an option to make the move permanent.”
He leaves Chelsea having scored three goals in 43 appearances.
